We were tasked with creating a standout, one of a kind beach house on Malibu Road. We responded with a sculptural aesthetic that reflected the spatial volumes of the interiors, which in turn were dictated by use and marketing analytics. We amped up the “ocean view” metaphor by eliminating any view obstructing wall on the southern exposure and enhanced the Southern Californian “indoor/outdoor” vibe by sliding all the glass panels out of the way of the primary exterior terraces, turning the indoor spaces into covered verandas. We utilized the twenty-foot wide view corridor for a pool and jacuzzi and created a spa and fire pit on the roof terrace for additional outdoor space.
